OUR FOUNDER
Jen CK Jacobs has an exentesive background in design, art history and retail. She is a published author and photographer, a mom to six and a fierce advocate for LGBTQIA children and teens. The Age of Sirens (formally Age of Sail) was founded in 2019 as a nod to her time as a Sailor in the US Navy, her love of the water and her life as a Sea Witch. As the business evolved and our Founder returned to her spiritual roots, Age of Sail became Age of Sirens in 2023. Jen spent the better part of a decade sailing and flying the world over and brings her nomadic eye for design and her love of The Mysteries to the collections at Age of Sirens.
In mythology, the Sirens were powerful women whose voices could shatter the carefully constructed world in their midst. The Age of Sirens pays homage to the new world we are shaping - one in which we shall not be afraid to fight and to move minds and hearts with our song.
WE BELIEVE
Jewelry is personal. Some could argue that it could indeed be the most personal thing you place on your body. It is not simply metal and stone that we adorn ourselves. It is thousands of years of craftsmanship; it is metal from the depths of our Earth and minerals that have endured millions of years of trial by water and fire to become what they are today. The practice of wearing jewelry, originally for protection then for currency and finally for decoration, is as nearly as ancient as humanity itself. And we use the word practice purposefully, for truly wearing jewelry is a practice more so than an act. At Age of Sirens we create reimagined talisman heirlooms from antique and vintage finds that we hope you will treasure and pass down through your own family for generations to come.
At Age of Sirens, we want you to find your own Talismans. Your own symbols of protection and power – because, that is ultimately what jewelry can give you. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks knew this, the Celts knew this, and we continue seeking out those pieces that call to our souls today. Our owner has been personally collecting pieces for over 25 years and brings her discerning eye to the collection found at Age of Sirens.
